ISSI-BJ Workshop on "Geospace Environment" successfully held on 22-26 July 2024

On July 22–26, 2024, the ISSI-BJ Workshop “Current Understanding of the Geospace Environment Variations Based on Multi-spacecraft Observations During Solar Cycle 24” was held successfully. About 55 leading scientists from a range of institutes took part, which was convened by Dr. Yoshizumi Miyoshi (Institute for Space–Earth Environmental Research, Nagoya University, Japan), Dr. Kanako Seki (University of Tokyo, Japan), Dr. Qiugang Zong (Macau University of Science and Technology, China; Peking University, China), Dr. Sasha Ukhorskiy (Applied Physics Laboratory, Johns Hopkins University, USA), Dr. Wen Li (Boston University, USA), Dr. Ioannis A. Daglis (University of Athens, Greece; Hellenic Space Center, Greece), and Dr. Pengfei Chen (Nanjing University, China).

The Workshop’s main aims were covered in 8 sessions, which focused on Cold Plasma Dynamics; Warm/Hot Plasma Dynamics; Radiation Belt Dynamics; Current System; Generation & Propagation of Various Magnetospheric Waves; Cross-Regional Coupling; Cross-energy/Cross-Scale Couplings; and the Storm–substorm Relationship.

As scientific output, a new volume of the Space Science Series of ISSI will be published covering the content of this Workshop, for distribution to both the science community and space science institutions.
