ISSI–BJ Pays a Visit to the Center for Space Utilization (5 January 2024)

On Friday, January 5th, 2024, an ISSI–BJ delegation visited the Technology and Engineering Center for Space Utilization (CSU), Chinese Academy of Sciences. Representatives from the CSU International Cooperation section first introduced the ISSI–BJ visitors to their exhibition at the CSU Haidian district’s campus. They described in detail the history of humankind in space, as well as key achievements in this area, with a focus on China’s past and future plans, specifically related to human space exploration. The exhibition also invited the visitors to see and enter a life-sized replica of the Chinese Space Station, allowing them to better understand the work and the living conditions of Chinese taikonauts on long space missions.
In addition to the exhibition, the ISSI–BJ delegation also visited the CSU tower, where scientists from not only the Technology and Engineering Center for Space Utilization but from any part of the world can perform experiments in a zero gravity environment. ISSI–BJ hopes to rekindle a successful collaboration with CSU in areas of mutual interest.
